Currently office buildings in Jakarta, whether existing ones or new ones, are not designed to save energy, preserve water or recycle waste. However, with only a few and rather inexpensive efforts these buildings could gain marks in the newly established Greenship Rating Systems. More and more companies want to ensure that up-to-date building management is developing their systems energy efficient, environmentally friendly and with employees and tenants engaged in it. It is of major interest for us to support possibilities in Indonesia for European green technology opportunities. We have therefore invited one of the core founding members of the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), Tondy O. Lubis, Director of Facility Management Services of the EuroCham member Colliers International to talk on the topic: “Green Technology for Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Buildings in Jakarta”. You are herewith invited to this next meeting organised jointly by the property and sustainable development working groups, which will take place on Thursday, 10th June, 16:30-18:00. In this meeting we want to: (1) Familiarizes ourselves with the Greenship rating systems for new versus existing buildings and how to apply them; (2) Analyze what fields of technology of European origin are of relevance for green buildings (3) Discuss means of addressing the Indonesian Government for undertaking more concrete steps towards environmentally friendly, energy optimized and green building technologies.
